Interiority
Queensland College of Art, South Bank, Griffith University
Semester 1
Year: 2019
Through the exploration of space, and its design and impact on human interaction, human response and reaction to space, students will apply the principles of design for interior and environmental spaces and develop design communication techniques such as rapid visualisation, drafting, presentation skills and model making. Students will explore the field through theories of interaction which inform practice, studio practice and workshops modelling working in multi-disciplinary companies in fields such as design and construction, retail, games and virtual environments, stage, theatre and exhibitions.

The Brief:

At the dawn of 2020, we need to think about 2050. This project will challenge students to be concerned with the spaces and ways of life of our near future. Students will vision the interiors of a 12 meter container, to meet the needs of a fictional character of the future for the private and public life of the chosen character. Utopian universe, nostalgic backtracking, or vision of the future, you will investigate the theory of interiority and reflect on and question current urbanism, globalisation and ecology.
